BE DELIBERATE: DON’T BE DOUBLE MINDED

There are things in life we are certain about. In fact, very many things that we are very certain about. Yet there are some things that compel us to question their outcomes. Especially, things that are in the future realm, render possibilities of success or failure. They are speculative. Their outcomes open us up to various alternatives.

God needs us to stand in faith. To stand confidently. Stable. Disregarding the contrary circumstances.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 (KJV)

Double mindedness appears here as an absolute disqualification from receiving anything from God. And a man cannot really have anything that lasts except it be given to him. John 3:27.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27 (KJV)

It goes to say God wants us to hold out in faith. One of the reasons many prayers will seem not granted or answered is easily understood by this scripture – Double Mindedness. Should I ? Should I not ? Will God do it ? Or will He not ? These are very delicate and subtle distortions in the journey of receiving from above.

So, I suggest the following to help you keep focus in the matters of receiving from God and from heaven.

  1. Do not observe the logicality of difficulty of receiving what you want from God: This requires that you are focused on your expectations from God. Nothing should get to you either by analysis or logicality especially, when you are aware they exist and your faith still insists. Jonah 2:8.
  1. Count and consider it a joyful thing for God to do the impossible even when you sometimes fall into difficult times. Don’t considering “the deadness of Sarah’s body’. Don’t be weak in faith. Be strong in faith giving glory to God. Romans 4: 17-21. Cf. Hebrews 13: 15.
  1. Practise receiving by giving God thanks in what can be referred to as target praise. Dance, sow a seed, fast where necessary and keep rejoicing. Live in the simulation of that expectation. Live in the past tense of that conversation. The object of rejoicing is the goodness of your God. You must keep that picture ever before you. Rom.8:32. And to remember that all things work together for your good for those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose. Rom. 8:28.
  1. Look out for the slightest sign of your expectation like Elijah sought for a sign, the size of a man’s fist.  1Kings 18:44. For God does not store prayers. Ps. 65:2. Don’t look out for your doubt. Look out for your faith. Look out for the signs and manifestations of your expectations. Hallelujah! And not one of them will fail.

You may ask, what then happens if it does not happen…? By the asking of this question itself is a confirmation of a double mind. The appropriate response in the event when ‘you think’ your expectation did not manifest is to stay in the thanksgiving mode; as you curiously search in your spirit for instructions or directives to get around it.

This article comes to energise your holding on to God at His Word, regardless of contrary evidence. Refuse to be double minded beloved. A double minded man cannot receive from God. You will receive from God in Jesus name.

Regards and Please Remain God’s Pride! Amen!
