BE DELIBERATE: YOU CAN STILL HEAR GOD’S VOICE EVEN WHEN YOU ARE AFRAID
If you have ever or always heard God in your life. You will always still hear God even in your times of despair.
The Bible helps this allusion in the examples of men like Adam, Elijah and Paul.
Adam for instance, told God, ‘I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid and I hid myself …’ Gen.3:10. This means the human nature even in a state of sin and or disobedience is capable of still hearing God. Although, we have the impression that he must have gotten used to hearing God all along and by now should be acquainted with hearing God. None the less, he was able to hear and even respond to God with regards to and even in his disobedience.
I am convinced there was something God wished Adam knew about himself that should never make him shiver even if he had wronged God. Selah.
Our God wants us to always come boldly to Him. Fear, intimidation will almost always never be a preference option for him in His relationship with and to us.
Elijah, a man of power and faith, in his lowest moments also got into a feat. 1Kings.19:10-15. Although, he was overwhelmed by the circumstances at that time, he did not miss a chance to listen for God’s voice in the wind, storm and earthquake. He finally got to hear God in a still small voice. God will rather speak, even in our state of confusion. He will not leave us helpless. Glory to God!!!
Now Paul. Though he was a persecutor of the Churches. When it was time for God to speak to him, he also heard the voice of God very clearly even this time, in His language. So in his case God spoke even in his dialect to get to Him. What would God not do to speak to us? He could even use a donkey to speak.
Is God been trying to speak to you that you are condemning yourself, or you are overwhelmed by your mistakes? Don’t despair again. God is been trying to speak to you. In the voice of the baby, whispers of a friend, voice of your pastor or in the pages of a book. You and I can still hear God even when we are afraid.
It’s a voice of reassurance. It is a voice of life. It is a voice of hope, direction and restoration. Amen!
So next time you are afraid, listen for His voice.
Take sometime out to listen to a God that always speaks even when we don’t know what to do. Ps. 19. His voice is like many waters that calms the heat and thirst of our lives.
Be still and know that He is God now and always in Jesus name. Amen!
Please Remain God’s Pride! Amen!
